And after this suspension design people still try to make frames as light, as lower CoG and as much compliant with just about the same as this frame's pedaling efficiency... without looking like this - wierd

It was great for a while, now, i've gone to a different frame, and it's with a dedicated chain device - but i'm still running a Shaman system on it. They are a bit lowd at the start, but once the roller beads in it's flawless.

So does that thing have some internal Compression/rebound valving, or it's just SSV-ish

It's pretty simular to the Appalache (with a diferent front end, but never the less). I don't see the need for that much travel, i think a good 8" with a 240x76mm shock will be sweeter, and stil have the rocks for breakfast and ask for a dessert. As for the single pivot... whell why have a virtual pivot when you can put a real one and dissmis the pedal feedback with the guide-wheel. I'd go with a pivot about 1/2 an inch lower and have the BB - Shock Pivot - Main pivot CNC'd so it's rigit, and a some moto bearings and an opening at the bottom of the seat tube to finish it off. Should be a great design - good luck with it.

Not realy broken, that's the safty feature - you put it back in and go your marry way (it pops out not to damage the piston)
